Well most of you are now in the marketplace or will be soon. I hope that this will be a great season of new beginnings for each of you. Some of you may have some mixed emotions, did I make the right choice or how different the marketplace is from school…….
But let me reassure you. Whey you got a letter or phone call from an employer and they said they had a job for you, I am sure you were pretty fired up. What you may not realize is at the exact same time there was a second CALL being placed to your heart. God the Father was CALLING to say, hey son or daughter, I love you AND I am appointing you as my ambassador to the marketplace.
Just like the fact you need to accept a job, you need to accept the CALL of God to be his ambassador in the marketplace.
Many new graduates have the mindset of: “Finally, I am out of college. I got a new job, an apartment, MONEY for the first time in a long time, New friends and the fact that you are God’s ambassador just fades into some background experience that you had in college.
God is not calling you to transform you company in the first 90 days, 6 months or year. But if you accept his CALL and say I am willing to learn how to be a MARKETPLACE AMBASSADOR, it will be amazing how he will begin to prepare you through your work experiences and relationships for significant KINGDOM INFLUENCE as you grow in the marketplace.
DON’T FORGET THIS CALL. And “Don’t despise the day of small beginnings” – book of Proverbs. Realize that God works outside of time and your impact as his AMBASSADOR may not be immediately apparent, but just watch. Over time, you will be amazed at what he will do.
